Nice ten wheeler built by Alco-Schenectady orignally for the Ulster & Delaware as their #34. The U&D merged into merged into the NYC Catskill Mountain Branch. Superheated, renumbered to 811 and reclassified as class F-12a in 1936. Original specs - 69-inch drivers, 22x26-inch cylinders, and 200 pounds per square inch of boiler pressure. After being superheated they weighed 199,500 pounds and developed a tractive effort of 31,900 pounds. No photographer, date or location given for the photo but it was after the 1936 renumbering. |
