Electrics. Here is a photo via Bob Lorenz that was taken near Morrisville, Pennsylvania, in 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4804 and #4886. Both are GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electrics rated at 4,620 horsepower each. #4804 was constructed by General Electric in June of 1935 and retired in June of 1966, while #4886 was built in Juniata during March of 1939. (Gift from Brad Mann.) |

Newark. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train near Newark, Delaware, on 27 March 1965. Shown here is PRR engine #4886, a GG-1 built in Juniata during March of 1939. It will soon arrive in Wilmington on its way North to Philadelphia and New York City with a 20-car passenger train. The time is 12:19 P.M. (The highway bridge is marked "SR 31703.") |

Shown here (R to L) are PRR engine #4886 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #4886 is a GG-1 built in Juniata during March of 1939. They are idling-away on the Locomotive Ready Tracks at the Market Street Bridge, just West of the Harrisburg Passenger Station. |
