| I took a series of shots around the bridge to give you a feel for the lay of the land so to speak. This is the wiped out boat ramp next to the bridge. Hurricane Isabel put the artistic touches on the dock. Previously you could drive a 3/4 pickup onto this dock. High water and winds did their damage to what used to be a very level wooden surface. The view on the other side of the bridge is looking NW up Quantico Creek towards what used to be, in the 16 and 1700's, the bustling seaport of Dumfries. Sailing ships used to ply these waters. |
