PRR 6849, M-1, 1951         
Here is a photo via The Garys that was taken in Northumberland, Pennsylvania, on 5 August 1951. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6849, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in November of 1953 after 27 years of faithful service. Note the trainphone apparatus on the tender's deck. Gary Mittner Collection.
