If the date is correct, this is a Sauturday, which makes this an SLN 5. Looks like it's backed into the yard, or possibly on the Buffalo Runner, though it's doubtful that CR would have let the NYSW/D&H-they changed crews here; CR would not let them do it on the Southern Tier main-would let the track be occupied for very long, since it was routinely used at the time to connect from the Tier to the D&H at Bevier St.

The mix of NYSW and D&H power was common at the time, as NYSW was running the D&H under directed service, which would last til CP took over in a couple of years.

The 4006 is one of the original B40-8's, 4002-4008 even-because they were MU equipped-that stayed with the NYSW after all the others-4010 through 4048 even-went back to CSX, who financed them, when CP took over the D&H. The NYSW's four ultimately wound up on the Providence & Worcester, where they looked good in chocolate and orange.
