| A CN train is about to clear W. 2nd St. as it sets out cars at the FV&LS (or FOXY), former CN, originally C&NW, yard at Appleton Junction, WI, on 31 Dec. '23. The train continued on to Little Chute and Kaukauna. The former Appleton Wood Products Co. factory, now part of the Miller Electric facility, is partially visible beyond that. Built in 1916, the walls include some nice, decorative brickwork (including cast or carved keystones depicting bowling pins above the windows), which Miller obscured with cheap metal siding at some point after they bought it ca. 1975. |
