Built by Baldwin in December of 1906 (serial #29843), the loco served the Frisco until retirement and scrapping. There is a slight difference in the scrap date between the Baldwin records and the dat on this photo. The Baldwin records show this being scrapped in May of 1948 and yet, the photo by Arthur Johnson is labeled June 20, 1948 with a note "awaiting scrapping". Nevertheless, it was gone by end of 1948. Specs - 55" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 181,500 lb, tractive effort of 38,160 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
