| Three General Electrics rumble south with a manifest freight. The train is approaching the South Seattle Intermodal yard on main 1, and will meet a waiting northbound coal train parked on main 3. Second in the consist is Norfolk Southern 4558, a former C40-9W that was rebuilt into a C44-9W in the early 2010s, and later rebuilt into an AC44C6M (Dash-9s rebuilt with AC traction motors) in the early 2020s. Note that lead unit 5667 has burn marks from an excess of unburned fuel built up in the exhaust stack. |
