Big Boy 4023 has a full coal bunker as it loiters in the yard at Laramie. 4023 was built in 1944, and was one of the six Big Boys to operate in 1959, the only one of the 4884-2 series. 4023 would pull its last train over the Wasatch on July 20, 1959, arriving in Cheyenne with 56 loads and 12 empties at 10:35 PM. After retirement, the engine would be placed on display at the Omaha shops. When the shops closed in 1988, the engine was donated to the city of Omaha, who put it on display at Kenefick Park, where it resides today.
