UP 1943 - Compton CA - 03/01/18
Union Pacific train PYULB1 01 passes under the Los Angeles Metro "Blue Line" light rail line as it nears its destination – Union Pacifics Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) in Long Beach. This impressive 20-car passenger special was powered by the railroads most recent commemorative locomotive – UP SD70ACe 1943 (ex-UP 9026), painted to honor the five branches of Americas military. It was teamed with UP 8900, another SD70ACe. The train arrived here from Yuma, Arizona. (Compton, California – March 1, 2018)
