ILSX 1334 is ex-CP 1512, nee-CP 8510, one of a group of GP9s CP bought with steam generators for passenger service. Note the squared off end of the long hood, similar to that found on later SDP35, GP40P, SDP40 and SDP45 models. Raymond Kennedy's comment below reveals the purpose for this modification. C&NW, B&M and CNJ also had some Geeps like this where the extension housed the train lighting alternator, but the squared off portion on those units didn't extend all the way to the roof. |
