Stephen Gose General Milwaukee #9, needs to eventually find a new home and be put back together! I say the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, because the MILW SD45s did occasionally go to Duluth on The Skally, and might as well add another to their SD45 collection. 8/8/2021 9:11:27 AM
andrews trains General i would disagree the state of the unit is perfect is should stay that way 8/12/2021 7:13:21 PM
Stephen Gose General Hey Andrews, it’s the last MILW SD45! It should be restored eventually. Where is your preservation railfan brain? 3/28/2022 6:26:36 AM
Stephen Gose General #9 is converted into a portable load test unit. Amazingly, look how while it still is. Not an impossible restoration back to it’s old self! 3/28/2022 6:34:04 AM

Spudwick Throckmorton General Stephen, while a total restoration would be nice not only would it be costly but also impractical. The unit is taken care of very well by the owners and continues to serve the rail industry as a functional test cell. Think of it as luxury retirement for a fantastic piece of machinery, as opposed to being stored indefinitely until proper funds and parts would be found for a restoration which, lets face it, is not realistic 9/17/2024 8:41:00 PM
