iCurve. Here is an image that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1920. In the left foreground is the turnout for the Kittanning Run Railroad. At the right is the Pennsylvania Railroad's Kittanning Point Passenger Station. In the center distance are the four-track overhead Coaling Station and an unidentified steam locomotive taking-on water. Note that all of these switches would've been thrown by hand! The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |
