SEED arrives at E. Deerfield on track 1 having cut away from its consist. Track 2, the main is on the left. Far left is the loop from the Conn River main. Until 1983, there was a connection to the now abandoned Turners Falls Branch an ex-NH branch of the former Farmington Canal Line just beyond the loop switch between it and the control box for CPF-384. At one time, both tracks 1 & 2 were considered main line tracks. Now track 1 is considered the Greenfield Industrial here and the Montague Industrial from CPF-381 across the Conn River into E Deerfield Yard. Track 1 is mostly used for classification by yard jobs. In 2019, the train is now more accurately called RJED as SEED's counterpart has been called EDRJ in 2003 and now in 2019. |
