| CN local crosses the South Channel (Neenah Channel) of the Fox River while it services Neenah Paper via a remnant of the former C&NW mainline at Neenah, WI on 10 Apr. '16. The recently renamed ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah looms in the background. From its construction in 1909 until 23 Mar. '16, it was named Theda Clark Hospital, in honor of the daughter of a local paper baron (Medical Center eventually replaced Hospital in the name). After ThedaCare acquired most of the local hospitals, the geniuses in charge thought it was too confusing to keep their traditional names, like Theda Clark, Appleton Medical Center, Shawano Hospital/Medical Center, etc. So let’s rename them all ThedaCare Regional Medical Centers. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? |
