Conrail had a plan to single track the Tier as far east as Binghamton. The plan was to start at CP River, roughly where the old NT tower was, and work east. This was the first section to be done-the segment from NT to Buffalo had been done by EL. We see TV 203 on the section to be single tracked from an old Erie steel bridge, now closed to traffic. There is a semaphore here on track 1, partly obscured by the diesel exhaust, which will be removed during the single track project. For now, it looks good as the train rolls down the Canaseraga Creek valley into Livingston County on the line as Erie built it. In a couple of years, track 2, on the right, will be gone.

Steve Coraggio General Great shot and hsitory of this segemtn of the track, neat with a semaphore inplace and mile marker JC 353. Sad that this was made into one track only. 7/26/2017 12:06:17 PM
