The LIRR had been using FAs on the rear of trains since the early 70s when everything was powered by C 420s. Now, late in the GP 38 era, they were still in service, though not for much longer. Ten years hence, new power and cars would send these old warriors to scrap. This one is taking up the rear on an Oyster Bay train.
