One of the remaining D&H RS 36s rolls a 556 south across the diamond at BD as it heads into East Binghamton. The RS 36s did not see the road often at this point, and it would have been a very unlikely leader, though CP was not shy about running Alcos in regular service. My guess is the crew on this train came down with the PLM unit leading, and was on short time. If there was no room at the inn, the East Binghamton yardmaster likely had him tie up at Bevier St and taxied the crew to the yard. Then 5022 was sent over to get the train once there was space. |
