Built in October of 1951, this Fairbanks-Morse unit was designated a class FGP-16msc ((F= Fairbanks Morse, GP= General Purpose, 16=1600HP, M= MU, S= Steam Generator, C= Speed Control) and used primarily for passenger service most of its life. Date is approximate. No photographer listed but possibly could be one of John Krause's LIRR photos.
