Number 5019B was built in March 1949 (c/n 6596), rebuilt into an E8AM. Here are the notes about this locomotive from utahrails.net: C&NW 5019B was rebuilt by EMD to an E8AM (2,000 horsepower from two 12-567BC engines) in June 1953. C&NW 5019B rebuilt with Cummins diesel generator set for 440VAC auxiliary power for Chicago suburban service in August 1961. Sold to Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) on 31 December 1977, leased back to C&NW for operation. Assigned RTA road number 400 (not renumbered); renumbered to RTA 5019; retired in 1981; sold to Naporano Iron and Metal, May 1985. |
