My guess would be San Luis Obispo in the late 1950s.

The boys on the Yahoo "Espee" Group have pegged this location as Klamath Falls, Oregon in the 1950s.

The train would be 'The Shasta Daylight.'

This is definitely Klamath Falls. It is often cold there in the spring. The Shasta Daylight probably hit its peak in 1955 with the addition of the dome lounge. Note how the orange paint stripe is larger than the windows, so it matches the bigger window stripe on the Shasta cars. Thank you for posting this. Do you have any more?
