derek gatt General its funny that this locomotive is now thousands of miles away from australia and it now adorns the same colors as the locomotives owned by G&W in Australia and ironicly both built by Clyde and yet the only way they wear this livery is by sheer luck, ironic, huh?,anyway ,great shot 5/18/2009 7:24:09 AM
derek gatt General oh and the units in Australia also wear that ZERO INJURIES logo,,sorry to babble on, the point i was trying to make is that these engines were to big to run on the aussie standard gauge nework as their axle loads are too high for mainline australia (outside Newcastle and the WA pilbara region which is around 100 deg year round hence the wierd radiator grilles and the double skin roof, and the counter sunk fans to fit under 15'5" clearences for the rotory ore dumpers which were sourced from the oreville dam project. I thought it was funny that the only way thes could wear the same colors as their clyde/emd cousins is being sent 15+ thousand miles away!,cheers ,Derek 5/18/2009 7:34:46 AM
