Title: |
YV 4-4-0 #22 - Yosemite Valley RR |
Description: |
Alco-Rogers built a pair of these 4-4-0 American type steam locomotives for Yosemite Valley RR as #22 and #23. The locos served until 1948 when at least #22 was scrapped. Still looks good but with parts missing, it appears to be sitting in the scrap line. Specs - serial #43167, class 22, 63" drivers, modest 165 psi boiler pressure, 18x26" cylinders, modest engine weight of 110,000 lb, very modest tractive effort of 18,753 lb. The little loco was scrapped in 1948. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo. Although the correct reporting mark is YVRR, that current belongs to Yadkin Valley so I have listed it both as YVRR and just YV. |
