The unique feature on MILW 2-6-6-2 #63 is the indented "cobra-hooded" Coffin type feedwater heater in front. Originally built as a compound Mallet Mogul CM&StP #5017, it was renumbered and simplified during its lifetime - 5017>9517>9313>MILW #63. The loco was retired in August pf 1951 after 41 years of service. Simplified specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, four 21 1/2x30" cylinders, engine weight of 390,300 lb and tractive effort of 82,720 lb.
