Although not clearly seen in this photo, MILW 2-6-6-2 #57 has the indented "cobra-hooded" Coffin type feedwater heater with the unique look.Built by Alco-Schenectady in December of 1910 as MILW #5011, it was renumbered in 1912 to #9511, simplified in December of 1929 and renumbered #9307 and finally renumbered in 1938 to MILW #57 seen here. The loco was retired in march of 1953 after 43 years of service. Simplified specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, four 21 1/2x30" cylinders, engine weight of 390,300 lb and tractive effort of 82,720 lb. Here is another view of MILW 2-6-6-2 #57 with the indented "cobra-hooded" Coffin type feedwater heater.
