Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans) Mk-5 class Mikado 770 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in April 1913 and was upgraded with a superheater and a feedwater heater in September 1941. It was shown here parked at the Algiers Shops in New Orleans in the summer of 1950, and it was sold for scrap to Commercial Metals in Houston on 15 October 1954. Locomotive 426 on the right was an M-4 class Mogul built by Cooke in 1900. It was renumbered second 436 in August 1950 and sold for scrap at Houston in April 1953. (approximate date) |

It had been built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works (39725) in April 1913 and was sold for scrap to Commercial Metals in Houston a year after this photo was taken, on 15 October 1954.
