From Soyuth Junction to metolius, the BNSF Oregon Trunk Subidivios ins owned by the Union Pacific, but is dispatched, and maintained (I believe) by the BNSF. Here the H-EVEBAR takes the main to go around the UP 5856. Did I mention there is a 1.5% grade for southbounds here? |

Great shot here for Northbounds late in the day. Too bad none came! We are back on the BNSF owned part of the Oregon Trunk. The Oregon Trunk stops in Bend, where it came the GN from bend to Chemult, but BNSF has designated the entire line from Wishram (Fallbridge) to Chemult as the oregon Trunk Subdivision. |

COP GP20 989 |
Description: |
COP GP20 989 contemplates it's future work load. With only a fragment of the past freight hauled by this line, the end has looked bleak since 2001, but the positive-thinking City of Prineville has decided to keep the railroad alive as a marketing tool. It has slowly start to work. Hopefully, they will someday see traffic levels like yesteryear. There is one other locomotive owned by the COP, but it was un-shootable at the time of our visit. |
