I was over at OReillys in Gentry getting a headlight, when I saw the dodger power roll through town, then go back up to McKee Foods-thats Little Debbie-to switch the plant. I got done at OReilly, and went up to see what was going on, and discovered this unit, one whose rebuild into a GP 22ECO was financed by Louisiana for service there. This is only the second of these I have seen here, the other on a lite power move last year. So it was quite a surprise. Im sure the crew is appreciating the flared long hood going forward!! |

Peek-a-boo |
Description: |
We stopped in Gentry to get my wife an iced tea, and looked over to see the nose of the dodgers leader peeking out from under the Ark 12 bridge. |

Now the whole train |

The dodger is seen in its entirety, its 13 cars stretched out along the siding. The crew is in McDonalds grabbing lunch, and will be on their way shortly. |

Working Pipelife |
Description: |
I came upon the Watts based dodger that works north catching it at Kenwood St as it worked the Pipelife Jetstream plant in Siloam, the power having just backed down past the crossing as it shoved plastic pellets into the plant. |

Pushing back, and a former customer |
Description: |
The dodger power pushes covered hoppers full of plastic pellets into the Pipelife plant, past the now cut off siding for Allens Canning, the one time packers of Popeye spinach, which was once canned here, along with a variety of other vegetables. The brand survives, though Allens is no longer a going concern. The warehouse here is now owned by Pro Pak, and truck served. |

Changing ends |
Description: |
The day the 2816 ran south from KC, I went up to McElhany to wait for the steam train. When I got there, the dodger was changing ends to work back north. The power is passing its train, and will come back shortly so the conductor can hang the marker. |

Hanging the marker |
Description: |
The power returned a few minutes later, and the conductor climbed down and hung the marker on what was now the last car. I thought how much cooler a caboose would have looked, but this was probably more efficient. |
